6. Total Corporate Health

It is commendable that executives are working out and eating better diets however there are aspects to human health that are not being addressed; aspects that are vital to wellbeing. When applying a health approach we need to consider the complete person.

These workshops explore the complete person - one who is not just a mind and physical body but a interwoven package of body, mind, emotions, energy and spirit. These are all vital components of a total health approach

The parts of our brain which give us our sense of purpose and happiness are often neglected in a normal health approach. For a long time the emotions were omitted from the mind-body medicine paradigm; but in recent times Prof. Candice Pert brought the emotions to light with her book “Molecules of Emotion.”

Pert’s research that it is our emotions and their biological components that establish the crucial link between mind and body. For example Pert talks of hormones as messenger molecules from brain to body and looped back again. There has been much talk about the power of the mind but the power of feelings is just as important in the health equation.

My definition of wellbeing is a person who is living true to their innate potential and that can't be someone who neglects vital aspects mentioned above

Incorporating total health practices into your normal day will ensure more executive longevity, more enthusiasm and vitality and reduce burn out
